Convenient Ferrite Content Measurement

The ferrite content meter List-Magnetik FERRITE-CHECK 240 is an easy-to-use instrument with color display and external probe for measuring the ferrite content in austenitic and duplex steels according to the Basel standard DIN EN ISO 8249 using the magnetic induction method.

A completely new digital probe technology allows very stable measurements due to its high sampling rate. The signals are digitized in the probe for absolutely interference-free and precise measurement. This results in very accurate, reproducible measurements.

Color display of ferrite content

The Ferrite Content Meter has a graphic LCD touch panel with innovative user guidance and a resolution of 320x480 pixels. The yellow-green silicone frame effectively protects the housing from damage. Measurements are possible in FN and Fe%.

Measurement of ferrite content in welds

Ferrite content measurement is especially important for welded duplex steels to know if the weld has sufficient ferrite content to ensure weld strength. If there is insufficient heat input or cooling in the weld area, the ferrite content may be too low.

Fast and Continuous Ferrite Content Measurement

With FERRITE-CHECK 240 the ferrite content can be determined very accurately and quickly. To detect the weld seam on smooth or polished surfaces, the instrument can be switched to scan mode. When the probe is placed on the surface and moved along the surface, the readings are continuously stored and the statistics of the minimum, maximum and average values of the measurement series are displayed.

Calibration of the Ferrite Content Tester

The FERRITE-CHECK 240 is supplied with 3 calibration standards traceable to the NIST standard.

Interfaces and operation

With the flexibly divisible measured value memory and the Bluetooth Low Energy interface to Windows, Android or iOS, you have all the options you need to record and process your measured values.

An SCPI interface is implemented on the device, which allows the device to perform remote measurements in line operation and to deliver measured values. The connection is made via USB, which also ensures power supply and continuous operation.

Power can be supplied by 3 AA batteries or an external power source connected via USB. This allows the device to be powered by a power supply or AC adapter.

The probe cable, which can be plugged in at both ends, connects the display unit to the digital probe and can be easily replaced if the cable breaks.

Manage and send measurement data with a free application

To further process your measurement data, you can pair your measuring device with mobile Android and iOS devices. Or you communicate with a Windows PC. This is made possible by Bluetooth Low Energy technology (BLE). With the Lima Connect app you can manage projects and assign the measuring points on a photo. The measurement results can be statistically evaluated and displayed graphically. The app for Android, iOS and Windows is free.
